Question For Ya and Some Good News!

Question: I’ve been replying to comments through my gmail account. Do you do this as well? For every comment you leave I receive an e-mail with your comment that also gives me the option to reply to your comment. Not sure why but I’m a little leery of this and wondering if you’re actually getting my replies. I LOVE that you take time to leave me a little note and I want to do the same for you! What I’ve Been Up To

Three months ago I looked at my calendar and got a little flustered. We had something going on every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for three months straight! I got a little stressed thinking about how I was going to juggle everything but here we are with the last three months behind us. It was actually a lot less stressful than I thought it was going to be. I will say that the last few months kind of blended together. We did a lot fun things but if you asked me what month we did each activity in I would go blank!
Here’s a glimpse of what I’ve been up to the last few months………….

We celebrated my niece’s graduation!!!!

We celebrated the engagement of these two! I was lucky enough to be fly on the wall and capture the special moment!!! It was such a touching moment!


I captured few special moments between this beautiful family. Their son use to be in my pre-school class so it was great catching up and seeing how much the kiddos grew. Below are a few of my favorites from the session. To see more click HERE.


  


 

  I had session with my friend and sweet little family. Her little one is just too cute and has the sweetest smile. To see more from their session click HERE.

We celebrated my great Aunt’s 80^th birthday! She may be 80 but she still has a lot of spunk left in her! My aunt Mary has not aged in years. I hope some of those good genes rub off on me!

We headed to California to celebrate the marriage of Kent’s cousin. We attended her traditional Chinese reception. I’ve been to a few Chinese receptions but the food this time around was the BEST, yum-yum!

We celebrated my best buds little one turning one. I was at the hospital the day the he decided to make his appearance. I know everyone says it but it’s true….feels like it was just yesterday now he’s walking and talking up a storm.

 

Kent’s sister and niece are in town all the way from China. They’ll be here for a month so we’ve made sure to get in LOTS of baby Katelyn time. Oh the things I will do to make this little one smile!

Spent some quality time with my niece. I have the best nieces. I can’t get enough of them!

We headed to Austin, TX to attend a family wedding and see baby Katelyn make her debut as a flower girl.

And…….we started planning our wedding!

Thrifty Treasures

This thrifty treasure post will be a tab bit different than the norm. No Goodwill goodies or thrift store treasures this time around. I do have something kind of neat I wanted to share, and yes it’s something neat AND thrifty!



Have you been to RaceTrac lately? Well if you haven’t you need to head to your local RaceTrac and pick up one of their “magic cups”. I call it a “magic cup” because you pay $6.99 for their special cup and get unlimited refills until August 1^st! That’s right……you can go in for free refills as many times as you want until August 1^st. Kind of neat huh? Kent (my finacee) heard about the RaceTrac deal on our local news. Not sure it should be headline news but I was excited when he surprised me with a little stop at RaceTrac. I go a bit silly over a good deal so I was pretty pumped when he filled me in on why we had stopped at RaceTrac.

With your “magic cup” you get unlimited refills of sodas, slurpees, and ice tea. I get a diet soda every once in awhile but I’ve been stopping in for ice tea lately. The Texas heat is upon us and a nice cold cup of ice tea can sure be refreshing!

Our First Trip to a Winery

We headed to California a few weeks ago to visit Kent’s family. It was a short trip but we made time to hit up a few wineries.

This was our first time visiting a vineyard so we were quite taken with the views and the ambiance of the whole thing!

We’re not big drinkers in general but it was great just hanging out and soaking up the relaxing views.

I Get Attached To Furniture

This armoire and I go way back. It was in my childhood home and has many memories attached to it. Why you may ask? Well, I’m not really sure but for some reason when I see it I think about evenings spent in the living room with my family, Christmas mornings crowded around the Christmas tree, and many other happy memories that were made in the home that this armoire once decorated. For some people it may be a smell or certain song that takes them back but for me this piece of furniture could write a book full of my childhood memories.


I visited my mom a few weeks ago and was shocked when I noticed it was missing. It’s been a few years since we lived in that very home and lots of things have changed. This armoire was one of the last pieces that brought me back to those happy years spent in my childhood home. My mom has a different relationship with knick knacks and had no idea how much the armoire it meant to me. I don’t know where it came from but all the sudden I was a little overtaken with emotion at the fact that the armoire was gone. My mom felt awful and jumped on the phone to call the consignment store that she sold it to. Thankfully they understood and agreed to have it delivered to my home. So, this piece of wood that may just be an armoire to some is now living in my home and continuing to remind me of my childhood and someone very special who is no longer with us.
