Girls Have ALL the FUN!

I’ve been a busy lady!
I am officially done with my summer courses and have a few weeks to recoup before fall term starts up. What have I been doing with my extra time……posting things on Ebay! I’ve spent the first few days of my break photographing items I want to sale and posting them. Who would have thought posting items on ebay would be so time consuming. I now have all my handcrafted items up but need to post a few odds and ends. So far the items that I designed are doing really well which of course makes me feel good! Cross your fingers for me that they sale at a fair price! I’m not trying to make tons of money off them, just what it cost me to make them and a bit for my time. I had a blast designing and can’t wait till I have a little one of my own to make things for.
Here are a few pictures of the items I’ve posted thus far. Let me know what ya think.

I wish we had shoes like this was I was a little girl!

These have colorful little cupcakes all over them!

I think the pink zebra bow finishes them off nicely

I love this hat! I think it's may fav out of the things I designed. Not sure why I love it so much...its just sooo sweet.

Sorry thins is a bad picture but shows the whole onesie

I've posted these as a set with a matching burp cloth

I hate to say it but it was hard to come up with ideas for a boy. This could be for a boy or girl. My best friend just had a little boy and I desperately wanted to make him something. I looked high and low for something that stood out to me but could not top the cuteness above. I ended up doing a tan onesie with a little I heart Mom tattoo on it. She loved it but I wish I would have come up with some a little more FUN. After the fact I have a few ideas in mind that I'm going to make for him.

Weight Watchers Asian Steak and Noodles

Weight Watchers Asian Steak and Noodles
As some of you know I am following the Weight Watchers program. I'm loving it and doing very well! If any one is thinking about starting the program I will be happy to answer any questions I can. Just shoot me an e-mail at domesticprincessintraning@gmail.com or leave a comment ( I love to hear from ya).
This was something a little out of the norm from what I usually cook (Kent being Chinese and knowing the Asian cuisine much more that I do usually does all the Asian cooking in our home. He is a wonderful cook by the way!) but it was delicious, easy, and fun way to try something new.

Today I'm linking you with Designs by Gollum for Foodie Friday!
What you Need
*2 1/2 tablespoons reduced sodium soy sauce
*1 garlic clove minced
*1 pound of flank steak (you can substitute chicken, fish, or pork if you like)
*1 (8oz) packages of lo mein noodles (if you can not find lo mein noodles you can substitute soba noodles or fettuccine noodles. I used basil fettuccine noodles found at Wal-Mart)
*2 tablespoons of hoisin sauce (if you do not have this on hand you can skip)
*1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper, or to taste
*1 red bell pepper, seeded and thinly sliced
*1 green bell pepper, seeded and thinly sliced
*2 scallions, thinly sliced

Tips: You can really play around with these ingredients to make it fit your tast buds. I also added broccoli and carrots. Mushrooms would be great in this recipe as well. Look for lo mein noodles in your supermarket's Asian-food section.

Directions
1. In a shallow baking dish mix 1 tablespoon of the soy sauce and garlic. Add the steak, turning to coat . Let stand 20 min to marinate. Let steak cool at room temp and thinly slice.
2. Meanwhile, cook the noodles according to package directions; drain. In a large skillet add veggies and cook to your liking. Once veggies are cooked add sliced steak, noodles, remaining soy sauce, hoisin, and crushed red pepper, and scallions; toss to combine and cook on medium to low heat to warm.
3. Eat and enjoy!

Makes 6 Servings
Per serving (4 slices of steak and 3/4 cup of noodles and vegetables)
Points: 5 per serving

Thrifty Treasures

I went a little crazy on Friday (bought more than I needed to) but I found some wonderful things at great prices.

I bought the silver tray at G.W. for $1.00. It’s hard to tell from the picture but it has some beautiful scroll work around the edges. I already had the tea lights. Fun way to mix old with new which is something I enjoy doing throughout our home.

This was another G.W. find. I paid $7.99 but think it was overpriced. Click here to see this little guy get a makeover.

Ta-dah….I think it turned out great! Sometimes things just need a little love!

Purchased this at Salvation Army for $2.99. When Christmas rolls around I plan to fill it with green Christmas ornaments. For now it’s hanging out under my end table.

I was flipping out when I stumbled across this beauty at a local thrift store. It’s in great condition and became mine for $8.99. You may think this is expensive but it’s a Lenox serving tray. I looked at the Lenox website and silver trays half the size of this one were $65.00. That means that I got a STEAL! It’s shocking what people get rid of.

This is the back of the tray.

This G.W. purchase is not too exciting. I’ve wanted one awhile but it was not something I had to have. I’ve seen it in stores for $20.00. I purchase this new, never out of the box for $5.00. Now that’s a price I’m happy with.

4 brand new place mats (still had the tags on them) purchased at G.W. for $8.00. Not sure that’s a huge deal but I liked them and they were cheaper than ones I’ve seen at Ross.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I can’t wait to see what YOU found over the weekend. I thought I would leave you with a few pictures of little Abby. She’s not a big fan of the camera so I was tickled to get these shots of her hanging out under the bed.
