Maternity Photos and Instagram Fun

IMG_6861-edit

I’m sharing our images over on my photography site! You can find them by clicking HERE Kendra Pryor Photography

Also I’m doing a little something different on Instagram today! Today is Weston’s due date. If he doesn’t come on his own today we’re being induced tomorrow (long story). I want to remember this day, the day before we met out son, our 1st born. What we looked like. What we did with our time.

I’ll be documenting our last day as a family of 2 plus 3 fur babies via Instagram with a photo an hour.

A day in the like of  an expecting couple

Bump Watch–38 Weeks

IMG_7273withsticker

How far along: 38 weeks and 3 days! Almost at the end!

What’s the baby up to: He’s plumping up and is around 19 1/2 inches long. He’s organs have matured and ready for life on the outside!

Best Moments:  We are pretty much ready to meet the little guy. The house is clean and organized. His nursery is all done. Our bags are almost packed. His baby gadgets are all set up. We’re 98% ready and let me tell ya it feels soooo good. I feel at peace this week and it’s pretty awesome. It’s been a busy week but I’ve been able to relax when I’m at home without a mental list running through my mind.

Funny/Odd Things that Happened this week:
Kent’s company surprised him with a baby shower. It was so sweet as men do not usually get showers at his office. A few of his employees got together and planed the whole thing…..tons of food, decorations, the whole nine yards. It made my heart happy to see people do something so special for him! Anyway they got in touch with me and wanted me to be a part of the surprise so I got dressed (out of gym clothes) and waddled my big sweaty butt up there! I don’t personal know many of the women he works with so this was my 1st time meeting them. At one point I was huddled around and told tons of awful labor horror stories by the women in his office! Why do women do this to other pregnant woman? It always seems like you get told the worst of the worst ya know?  In the beginning of my pregnancy I was fine with it but with D day knocking on my door it freaked me out! Stories of epidurals, massive blood loss, surgeries, babies getting stuck and having to be vacuumed out, wrecked bodies, and so on.  I literally got dizzy and had to sit down. I wanted to be polite so I tried my best to look interested and not horrified but goodness gracious! I came home and search youtube for positive birthing stories. I needed a little pick me up!

Lately I’ve been getting the “Aww you poor thing.” look from strangers. One lady even did a double take yesterday….no joke! I got a good chuckle out of it. Yes I’m big! Yes it’s hot! Yes I’m about to pop! Really though I’m okay. No need to pity or feel bad for me. I’m actually really going to miss being pregnant.

Clothing: Thank goodness for stretchy gym clothes! When I need to look a little more presentable I’m still LOVE my Jessica Simpson jeans capris, Old Navy maternity tanks, maxie dresses, and a few non maternity tops. I always accessorize to change things up!  I’m at the point where I could buy a few items with more room but I have a week and some change left so eh I’ll just need to squeeze into what I have until the end. My feet are pretty puffy and sore these days so I love my Corkys flip flops. I call them my granny shoes but they are oh so squishy and comfy!  The shirt I’m wearing in these photos is a Ross score and is not maternity. I thought it was petty funny!

Cravings: Pretty much anything clod……sandwiches, yogurt, salads, wraps, cold fruit, iced decafe coffee, fro yo,. I’ve been on a cold food kick for a couple of months. Even when I’m eating something that’s usually served hot I let it cool to room temperature before I dive in. I think the Texas heat has something to do with this cold food thing. It’s stinking hot here!

Symptoms:
-I’ve entered the end of pregnancy puffy stage. My face, legs, feet, hands. I feel like the Goodyear blimp!
-The waddle! I’ve got it down especially if I’ve been on my feet at lot!
-The more active I am…….. the bigger my feet get…….. the more they hurt the next day. It’s a chain reaction.
-If I'm cleaning or doing a lot of stuff with my hands they get super sore and stiff. As if my hands were chopped off and replaced with the hands of an 80 year old with arthritis. I totally get those commercials where they show an elderly person trying to open a jar and getting super frustrated. Yeah I get it now!
-I’m sleeping pretty well besides a few potty breaks and needing to change sides due to my achy hips. Last week I was waking up at 3am on the dot and could not fall back asleep but thankfully that’s passed and I’m back to a normalish sleeping schedule. Oh and naps, naps are my BFF!
-I have patches of skin that get itchy. It’s usually worse at night or when I’ve been in the heat.
-This one is kind of weird. I have these white spots on my skin (legs, feet, forearms). It kind of looks like I’m not getting enough circulation but my doctor said it’s hormone related.
-I’ve lost my mucus plug and had my bloody show. Seriously can’t they come up with better names for this stuff….yuck!
-Not feeling any contractions
-Still stretch mark fee!
-My stats as of last Friday: 2cm dilated, 35% effaced, his head is at stage-2

For the most part I feel great to be this far along. I’m staying pretty active. I’m still my happy silly self and I’m not too uncomfortable. You hear tons of horror stories about  how awful the end is. For me it’s not that bad. Don’t get me wrong I’m not running marathons and doing cartwheels but I feel pretty good! I really love being pregnant!

Notes to Nugget: We’re ready for ya buddy! People kept telling me to “Relax”  “Forget the list.” “You’ll see none of that stuff matters in the long run.” but I stuck to it and made our Prepare for Baby List important and ya know what? We got it all done and it feels amazing! I so badly want you to come home to a calm clean environment all set up and ready for you. Your nana, grandpa, and grandma came over to help us finish up. It was a team effort! You’re nursery is all done and the house is clean from top to bottom ready to welcome you. We even made some changes to the backyard so you’ll have a nice big space to play in when you get older. Your Dad’s getting excited and says he hopes you come next week! As much as I want to hug and kiss on you I’m going to miss you being in my tummy. I love feeling your hiccups and nudges. It’s been a gift to carry you these last 9 months but I can’t wait to carry you in my arms. I have a feeling your nana and I are going to be fighting over who gets to hold you!

Update: We just got back from our weekly checkup. I’m currently 38 weeks and 5days. Wanted to update this just in case I don’t get a chance to do another bump watch post before Mr. gets here. Weston is a BIG dude! Our doctor thinks he’s  8.5lbs and has a big head (just like his daddy). I think babies with big heads are so stinking cute! Due to my mother’s labor history and we’re at with Weston our doctor is considering inducing us next week if she can get us in to our crazy popular hospital. Right now they have a wait list for most upcoming induction dates. We’re going back on Monday for a sono to get a better reading of his weight and see how he’s doing. If she feels that’s he’s ready thus having a medical reason to induce we may be induced next week. It’s all still up in the air and I’m not really sure how everything is going to play out BUT maybe baby next week!
Stats from our appointment: Still 2cm dilated, 75% effaced,  his head is at stage –1. These stats really mean nothing as they can change in an hour but I’m always interested to see if I’ve made any progress.

I’ll be updating though our Instagram account if you would like to follow along!
