Quick and Cheap Photo Gallery

This little project takes places in my studio!
The plan is to eventually order canvases for the walls BUT we have a problem.
I’m SUPER indecisive when it comes to deciding on something I’m going to be locked into for awhile.  You should see me trying to pick out a yearly planner or paint color……….oh man it’s bad!
I have tons of favorite images which changes daily. How in the world am I supposed to pick a small handful stick with them?
This is a decision that will take some time and these walls needed a little love while Mrs. Indecisive over here makes up her mind! The quick  yet temporary  fix?

!ENTER TODAY’S PROJECT!

It’s exactly what the title says!
Quick: It took me 30 minutes to put this together! I hate measuring things!
Nope this ADD gal does not have the attention span to measure everything thing out perfectly which drives the hubby nuts!
I just eyeballed it! Not prefect but eh it works!

Cheap: I printed a few of my favorite images. Ran to Walmart and bought mini clothes pins and twine which you can find in their craft section.
Place a little nail at the end of each section and twist the twine around the nail head until it’s secure. Get your clothes pins and go to town!

There ya have it! The perfect fix for the indecisive girl!

Another great thing about this project is that it’s super versatile!
It’s so easy to change the photos out. This would be great for Instagram photos and random mementos!

This big blank wall above the changing table screams “AWESOME GALLERY WALL USE ME” but until I make up my mind this will do!

Because we all love a little behind the scenes shot here’s some of my prop stash.
Notice the key word “some”.
Yeah there are 2 other shelves on the other side of these and a garage full of stuff!

Ummm and no I'm not preggers silly!
Just in case you missed the top of this post this project was done in my studio. Don't let the changing table and welcome Savannah sign throw you off!

Ps….Have you seen our super cute new blog button? I love it!

Fall Porch Décor–Pumpkins Galore

Didn’t want to go too crazy with this year’s fall porch décor.

Nah

Last time I made my own glaze, painted pumpkins, crafted up some fall themed tea lights.

Yeah it was cute and all but it was a lot of work!

This time I just wanted to throw something together.

Here’s what I came up with………

fallbb2

I’m still using the same fall wreath I made a few years back. It’s been around for awhile but I love it so it gets to stay!

I thought I would save myself some time and just plant pumpkins instead of pansies. You don’t have to water pumpkins……well after they’re off the vine you don’t!

Fall Porch Board1

My shadow aka Brady aka The Tornado was having a hissy fit that he had to stay inside.

I didn’t  realize he was photobombing until I looked back though the pictures. Only 3 1/2 months old and already rocking the photobomb what a little genius. Winking smile

On Friday I’m going to the World’s Longest Garage sale with my mom. In fact by the time you read this I’m probably already getting my shop on!

Y’all I can even tell you how excited I am. We’re talking miles upon miles of awesomeness! I’ll be taking pics and video so I can share. If you would like to follow along find me on Instagram. I’ll be posting throughout the day!

Trust me you’re going to want to see this!

Harvest Party Goodness

Last Friday I had a few gal pals over for a little harvest party recipe swap. We dined, chatted, and shared a some of your favorite fall recipes!

Thought you might like to see s few pictures of the table scape….oh and the MOST important part………..the food!

I folded up an old table cloth to use as a makeshift table runner. Do you remember my fall décor post? If so you may recognize the centerpiece.

The sassy tea lights I threw together last week looked great on the table and added a bit whimsy that I try to sneak in wherever I can!

I also scattered a few tea lights on the front porch and along the walkway. I loved the warm welcoming light they put off.

On to the food!

I can’t say enough about this butternut squash soup. It was awesome!!!!! I’m drooling right now just thinking about it. One of my friends whipped it up using Ina Garten’s recipe…..yum, yum, yum!

Pumpkin cookie dip (I’ll share the recipe in a later post)

I only took a few pictures of the food but trust me it was delish!

Side Note: Marcela if you’re reading this I also served a BIG salad full of veggies (which is what I mainly ate) and Kent didn’t touch anything. Just in case you were wondering. :o)

How to Create a Wreath Under $25.00 for Your Front Door

Wreaths can be quite costly if you purchase them pre-made. Of course you can get small ones with cheap flowers that look ok but if you want something a little larger with better quality flowers you are lucky to find one under $40.oo (and that is a steal). I’ve been on the hunt for a wreath that I love that is within my budget but have just not come across one so I decided to make my own! I thought I would share what I came up with in case anyone wanted to make one as well.

I took on this project knowing that Joann’s was having a huge sale (which helped a lot). The flowers were %50 off and the yellow garland was %70 off. If this is something that you want to do use a coupon whenever possible or wait until they mark things down.

Supplies: Grapevine wreath, spring floral garland, flowers to give the wreath a little pizzazz’s!

1st Step: I trailed the garland around the wreath and fastened it to the wreath with brown floral wire. This was super easy. You could just stop here if you wanted to…I think it looks great without the extra flowers as well, which would also cut down on cost.

2nd Step: I then took the orange flowers cut the stems leaving about 2 to 3 inches and placed them a bit off center onto the wreath. This is something you will need to play with to see what look you like best. I attached each flower with brown floral wire to the wreath and made sure they were on their good. I put my wreath on the front door so I knew it would be moved around a lot. I also removed the leaves from the steam and attached floral wire at the base of each leaf. I moved them around with them until I found a position for them that I was happy with and twisted the wire onto the wreath. This is the finished project!

Something fun, super easy, yet again cost effective (are you sensing a theme yet), and very fast! It took me about 15min to complete this whole project. Another great thing is that nothing is hot glued or hard to remove so if you ever want to change it up a bit it’s very easy to do so. While you are looking for flowers to place on your wreath you may want to find something that will look good throughout the different seasons. I chose yellow and orange knowing it would look great with our red brick, door color, and they were great colors for summer and fall.
